Located in Hyumat, an urban poor community on the banks of the Bishnumati River in Kathmandu, Park Pods provided public space for gathering, play and solid waste disposal in an area where none previously existed. Pod designs were developed in collaboration with community members and local municipal representatives. Modular and mobile, they provided immediate benefits to community members, fostered converstion about the importance of community-scale infrastructure and catalyzed the development of a permanent park on the site.
